Key Stage 3 – School Years 7–9

Key Stage 3 includes children in school years 7 to 9. We run separate groups for each school year for English and Maths.

Science lessons including Biology, Chemistry and Physics are available too.

English & Maths

To ensure your child is given the maximum attention, classes have six students maximum and are grouped by year. This 41-week programme follows all topics and methods taught in the new National Curriculum syllabus.

English

  • Fluency in reading and writing

  • Creative writing in first and third person
  • Fiction and non-fiction writing – letters, instructions, recounts and biographies
  • Literature – Shakespeare and novels set in the 1900s

Mathematics

  • Numbers – negative numbers, standard form, indices etc.

  • Measurement – time, length, weight, capacity and money, including conversions

  • Data handling – bar and line graphs, Venn and Carroll diagrams, probability and statistics
